Meals
I've decided my current method of meal preparation is not working out. The way it is right now is, I have no idea what I'm going to make for supper until Isabella's afternoon nap. I sit down and go through recipes, my mind starts wondering and I think of a dozen other things to get done while she is sleeping. On a day like today, she wakes up, unexpected company drops by (which was very nice) and all of the sudden it's 5:00, the husband will be home in half an hour and I still have no idea what we're having for supper. I did manage to whip up some mini meat loaves that only take 30 minutes to bake, but I've decided I need to set some time aside one day a week to plan what I am going to make every night of the upcoming week. I think this will be really good, but I'm not exactly the most organized person in the world. We'll see how this goes.

I am so not the most organized person, either. I have a sense you're more with it than me! A few months ago I realized I needed to do something differently about meals, too, to avoid that afternoon stress. Just now I'm sitting down to organize my shopping list for tomorrow. Usually I plan out meals for the week on Sunday night, based on what's in the freezer and what our plans are for the week. I write them on my dry erase board in the kitchen, buy what I need, and execute the plan during the week. So far, it's been working pretty well. I don't go so far as to look at the grocery ads to see what's on sale, but I try to buy frugally still.
Good luck!
I have wanted to start doing this same thing, but have just never gotten motivated enough to do it. I really need to though!
Maybe you and Meredith could post your menus each week and I'll just copy your meals! :-)
We kind of do that too - we usually talk about what we want to make on Sunday, then make a grocery list and go shopping. Saves money too!
