This and That

I can't believe I can finally say this, but I'm feeling better! I still have some really bad days, but at least I'm not sick all day, every day anymore. I've still been having migraines a couple of days a week, and that has by far been the worst of this all! If you've never had a true migraine before, I can't even describe how painful they are, I think I would rather go through labor. It has definitely been a good lent of suffering for me. Although, I've come to the conclusion I'm not very good at suffering.

And big news around here, I cooked tonight for the first time in months! I threw together a rice, beans, and cheese in tortillas concoction, and it felt so good to cook once again! I still can't handle the smell, taste, etc. of meat, but hopefully that will come soon. I have my appetite back for the most part (except for the whole meat issue) and I'm obsessed with bean and cheese burritos and yogurt! I was with Isabella, too. I'm surprised that I have the exact same cravings this time.

And PLEASE moms, tell me you showed sooner after you had your first, because I KNOW I was not this big at 15 weeks with Isabella! I've read that this is the case, but I can't help but be a little shocked.

Our priest started a Theology of the Body study group in a neighboring town. We meet every other Monday evening, and it's pretty long term, he thinks it will take a couple of years to get through the material. Monte and I are really enjoying it! And Isabella does great at just sitting quietly next to us. I do bring a few quiet activities for her to do, but she mostly likes to just sit and act like she's an adult! The first night we were there, Father asked if we were waiting for anyone else, and someone mentioned that yes, we were waiting for Dr. F. I couldn't believe it, that's my OB doctor. I was so excited to know he would come to something like that! He hasn't come yet, but I know he's super busy, and on call several nights.

Last Monday Isabella and I went with Monte on a little trip he had to take for work. It was the highlight of Isabella's winter, for sure! Monte dropped Isabella and I off at the mall for most of the day, while he went and did his work. I got some great deals on maternity clothes, everything I got was on a really good sale, I payed between $4 and $9 for every item I got! Thankfully I felt really good that day, we waited until that morning to decide if we would go, since I didn't know how I would feel. Isabella was SO excited to go swimming with Daddy in the hotel pool, she had a blast! I sat on the side and watched, as I won't be going anywhere near my swimming suit for quite some time! I was excited to check out On.ce Upo.n a Child for the first time, it was definitely the best used kids clothing store I've been to! The next day we headed home early as I had a migraine, the car ride home was not fun, but I will say it was a good thing I had done a little shopping, so I had some plastic bags to, um, use . . .

Here she is in the hotel.

Can you tell how excited she was right before we went down to the pool! She likes her "new" (garage sale find) swimming suit a lot.

Our weather has warmed up to the 30's every day lately, which means there is finally some melting going on. As you can see, though, we still have quite a bit of snow! Isabella has been asking for months to play on her swing set, I think it will be a little while yet . . .

A random picture for a random post . . .

Who needs fancy toys, especially when she spends more time doing this than actually playing with her toys. She moves my rug out from the kitchen, buckles up her baby in it's car seat behind her, and uses a frisbee for her steering wheel, and voila - it's a car. Oh the places she has gone in that car! :)

And that reminds me of how she spent an entire day a couple of weeks ago. She played with nothing other than a beach ball and beach towel. She laid out the beach towel in the living room and pretended she was at the beach. She did all sorts of things at her beach, and she honestly spent hours at it! I love seeing her imagination at work, and obviously someone is ready for nicer weather!

At the end of last week, Monte had to work in the area by where his parents live. He made a last minute decision to take Isabella with him and stay with his parents for a couple of days. While they were gone, I did something I had been wanting to do for months, get my haircut. It was bad, I've been inspecting my split ends for months now, but in no way felt like going anywhere unless I absolutely had to. Now that I'm feeling better, I decided to get it chopped. I don't have a before picture, but it was a little past my shoulders. (And yes that is Isabella's outdoor basketball hoop in the background, we've resorted to bringing some outside toys inside, spring PLEASE come!)

I'm looking forward to my next Dr. appt. on Friday. We didn't find out what we were having with Isabella, we wanted to be surprised. This time we're thinking we might find out at some point, especially since I have an ultrasound at every appt! If we do find out, though, we're not going to tell anyone. Monte and I both think it's a girl, which brings me to my next point . . .
We told Isabella about the baby quite a while ago. To say she is excited would be an understatement. She talks about "her baby" a lot. She says she's going to help a lot, and that she's going to change the baby's diapers, and I won't even have to help her! Ha! She also wants the baby to sleep in her bed with her. I also will add that she insists she's having a baby brother, no matter how much we try to convince her it could be a girl. She's always saying she has a baby in her tummy, too.

I'm glad that you're starting to feel better! You have really had it rough. I pray that the migraines will go far away, too.

I'm pretty sure that I showed sooner for babies 2 and 3. Heck, I'm still showing!

How awesome that your OB would be part of your TOB group! Is that something Fr. S started after the weekend that we saw him?

I love Isabella's play car! She is so creative and well-behaved!

And finally, beautiful hair cut! Oh, you gave so much to comment on this time. :) (Sorry I missed your call last week....I would have loved to chat.)

Looks like I should have just sent an email!

Hooray for feeling better! And that concoction sounds super yummy... I think I know what I'm making for supper tonight. :>)

I stumbled across this TOB stuff a while back and have wondered about doing a blog series on it... but then I start thinking about copyright stuff and wondering if anybody else is even interested and I see something shiny and forget about it. :>) But it'd be a good way for ME to read it, I suppose. How wonderful that you're able to take that class, though - I'm a bit envious.

What a delightful post. :>) Thanks for updating us!

Um, I think I had to break out the maternity clothes about 3 days before I got my positive test with John Paul :)

So glad you're feeling better!
