Mother's Day

I had a very nice Mother's Day weekend. We made our first trip to the zoo for this year on Saturday. It was probably our nicest day (weather wise) we've had all year, it was gorgeous!

Jaymes made it to the first exhibit, an acquarium of Nemo fish which he laughed and laughed at, then slept the rest of the time!

We hung out at the park at the zoo afterward, which is Isabella's favorite park that we go to, and ended the day with DQ ice cream treats. It really was the perfect day! And you're probably sick of me saying this, but I am so in love with my Ergo, why didn't I get it sooner!?! It's so much easier than hauling the stroller everywhere, and unlike when he's in the stroller, Jaymes will sleep in the Ergo. I think he gets too stimulated watching everything going on around him when he's in the stroller.

Yesterday I got to spend most of the day by myself, working on Jaymes' quilt, while Monte took care of the kids. I got the whole top layer of the quilt done! Hopefully I'll have the rest of it done soon.

This and That

It's a very quiet week around here this week. Isabella went to spend a few days with her grandparents, so it's just Jaymes and I hanging out all day. I am missing Isabella, but it is really nice to spend this special one on one time with my sweet boy, he's getting spoiled!

First time in the swing today, it was finally nice enough.

I turned the big 3 1 yesterday, yikes! It's true what my grandma always told me, time really does go faster as you get older! My mother-in-law was staying overnight with us the previous night, so Monte and I got to go out on a date. She asked if Isabella could come back with her, so I decided to spend a good part of yesterday and today doing something I've been wanting to do for a long time - make Jaymes a quilt. Although, I'm not even close to being done, I've gotten a very good start, and I'm really excited about it.

My mom came for a visit a few weeks ago, and brought my niece with, the girls had SO much fun!

Our church hosted a mother/ daughter tea on Sunday. I was on the committee to plan, organize, decorate, etc. for it, and it was pretty fun!

Isabella's name was drawn, so she got to take home one of the balloon boquets, she was pretty excited about that.

I had to work at it, so Grandma came down to take Isabella. We had an acapella group for entertainment.

Easter

Last week Isabella and I colored Easter eggs, and baked and frosted a huge batch of Easter cut out cookies.

The "Easter Bunny" brought the movie, Tangled and a Tangled book. Plus Jelly Belly scented and colored bubbles with a neat whistle bubble blower
(don't know why I didn't have her put those in the picture). She loves to smell everything, so that should be right up her alley!

Dressed up in their Easter attire before church.

My little love bug.

We met my whole family at my sister's for Easter, we also stayed overnight. Isabella was disappointed that we only stayed one night!

The outdoor egg hunt.

The three four year old cousins, they have an absolute blast together!

All 8 cousins. Soon to be 9 in August, when my sister's next one joins the crowd.

Best buds.

Alleluia

A couple weeks ago Isabella came to me one day and said,

"Mommy, I've noticed we don't sing 'Alleluia' anymore in church, how come?"

I explained once Easter comes, we will start again. Just goes to show kids pick up on way more than we think!

Got it . . . Love it!

I ended up finding a really good deal on a new one on ebay. It came today, and I spent the whole afternoon outside with him in it. It's great, although I think I'll be watching the instructional DVD a few more times before I attempt to try him on my back!

Ergo Question

I have taken the advice that many of you have given me, and am pretty sure that I'm going to get an Ergo. I convinced Monte to get me one for my birthday, which is coming up. But I'm still being a bit hesitant, which is why I haven't ordered it yet. Just when I think I'm ready to order it, I think I can get by with the Baby Bjorn. I used the Bjorn almost constantly for the first three months, but haven't really used it since then until last week. We had a very short lived wave of nice weather (now it's back to cold and snow) and I decided to put Jaymes in the Bjorn (his first time outside EVER without being covered up with a blanket, can you believe it?!) so I would be free to hang out with Isabella, push her on the swingset, etc. And now I'm thinking if we had an Ergo it would get used a lot with summer coming up, and would make things so easy when we're out and about! So my question is, for those of you that have an Ergo, I'm trying to decide between the Ergo and the Ergo Sport. They are the same price, but the sport version is made of a lighter weight fabric, has vents for keeping parent and baby cool, but doesn't have as big of zippered pocket. So, do you or your kids get really hot in the regular Ergo? And how big is the zippered pocket in the regular Ergo, I would think that would be really handy to have. Also, is it hard to get your child in and out of it by yourself? I've read some reviews that said it is. That's one thing I like about the Bjorn, it's very easy to get him in and out (not so easy on the shoulders, though!).

Ready to go outside, he loved it!
