Light through the window

Isabella's sleeping habits have changed a little in the last couple of weeks. She's always been pretty predictable about getting up at 7:30 every morning. Now she's getting up at 6:30 instead, bummer. I'm hoping it's a phase. She's a kid that can pretty much be talked into anything, so I thought I would try something. I told her that she can not call for Daddy (he has to go in and get her, since she won't get out of her bed) until she sees light coming through her window, and that if she doesn't see any light coming through, that means it's still night time, and she can't get up. She said okay, but I really thought this was one thing she couldn't be talked in to. When the next morning came, I heard her rustling around in bed at 6:30, and talking to her stuffed animals, but she did not call for Daddy until 7:00. When he went in to get her, she said, "Daddy, I see a little bit of light through my window!" It was definitely hard to see, but yes, there has been the teeniest, tiniest, amount of light coming through her window now when she calls for daddy. :)

Great idea! I'm always thinking about how we'll explain to Charles when it's an appropriate time to get out of bed...whenever I finally take the plunge and move him from the crib!!

Tee hee! I'm lucky that Goose is about an 8 o'clock riser, though sometimes I have to get her up in the hopes that she'll be able to take a nap.

I think we're getting dangerously close to transitioning to "quiet time" for nap time and if she falls asleep, great. If not, EARLY BEDTIME. I don't really like it when she's up until 9 - which she often is if she naps until 5. (I don't let her sleep any later than that, sometimes she doesn't fall asleep until 3:30, though...)

I just wish we could get rid of the middle of the night wakings - it's been about every other night since she got home after Thanksgiving. Usually she just wants covered up with her blanket, which has NO chance of staying on her since it's too small to tuck under the mattress and she's a roller anyway.

I didn't get to see this last night but I always enjoy your comments coming through at night when I know we're both up too late. :>)

Noah has suddenly changed to early awakenings lately too. What's up with that?!
Unfortunately, he isn't at a point where he can be reasoned with yet,(that's a 2 year old for you!) so it's been early mornings for us as well.
