(Pictures are in random order)*We had a great 4th of July weekend with my family. We celebrated with my mom's side of the family, Isabella had so much fun with her cousins. Unfortunately, my camera battery died, so I didn't get any pictures. We thought we would put Isabella in her pajamas, and then make the 4 hour drive home on Saturday night. But our hyped up girl didn't fall asleep in the car until 10:20! That is insane, considering she's normally in bed at 7:30. She was so excited from all the festivities, she sang at the top of her lungs for an hour straight instead of calming down to go to sleep.

* Isabella was having "issues" with taking her nightly baths for about 2 weeks straight, it was not fun for any of us! She's normally pretty easy going and compliant that we haven't had to do much discipline-wise, but this definitely called for some action by us! So one night after her bath "fit" we sat her down and told her she wasn't allowed to use her swing set the whole next day, and wouldn't be allowed to use it again until she took a nice bath. And lo and behold it actually worked! The whole next day she talked about how she was going to take a nice bath so she could play on her swing set again. At one point in the day she asked me if she could just go look at her swing set, and told me she "really wished" she could play on it. Ever since then, she's been taking great baths again, and tells me almost everyday she's not going to be naughty in the bath anymore because she wants to keep her swing set.

* Monte had to get a 4 wheeler and GPS system for mapping out fields for work. I wasn't all that happy about the expense at first, but the company gives an incentive pay for everyday that he uses the 4 wheeler, that will more than pay for it. Still . . . I don't always see the big picture right away.

* Isabella must have forgotten that she LOVED going to the pool last year, because the first time I took her this summer she was terrified! After I spent a half hour trying to coax her in, she all the sudden proclaimed, "
Can I jump in by myself?" Um, seriously??? I just spent a half hour sprinkling a couple of drops of water on your toes, while you whined about not wanting to go in, and now you want to jump in? And jump in she did! (I should add, I'm talking about the kiddy pool) Get over fear of water, check.

*We're going on a couple of vacations this summer, and I'm really looking forward to them. I'm sure as long as Isabella can get her sleep, and good naps, everything will go good.
She is not actually riding this bike, I got it at a garage sale, she likes to sit on it. She's working on mastering the trike right now, but has a ways to go.

*Isabella loves working in the garden, and in my flowers. She is actually quite the helper, she's good at picking weeds, and I'm all for it.

*It's been raining /storming almost every day lately. I'm SO ready for some sun and heat again.
*I've been spending less time on the computer, but instead of getting to bed at a decent time, I've been reading like crazy! I highly recommend any novel by
Beverly Lewis.
*We've been enjoying some of our fresh garden produce. We have lettuce practically coming out our ears. I can't wait for my two favorites, though, tomatoes and cucumbers, and then there's canning . . .

Love the pictures and the update.
Isn't it nice when discipline actually effects kids' behavior?! Glad it worked!
This is the best post ever! I wish we lived closer - it would be so fun to hang out. We've had plenty of heat, wish we could get a bit of rain! (never satisfied, are we?) Getting to bed at a decent time . . . now there's a novel concept. I'll have to try that sometime.
