More Indoor Fun

First of all, I can't believe we actually did this. I'm not exactly fond of anything that I know is going to make a huge mess. But things change when you have kids, and I'm getting much better about "letting things go", or maybe I should say I'm getting more relaxed about this whole parenting thing, messes can always be cleaned up, right? While I do love this age, I also find it a little hard to come up with things to do. She's not into really baby things anymore, yet still too little for a lot of activities. I can't wait to do "crafty" things with her as she gets older. This was our first attempt at finger painting. Since I knew she would try to eat it, I made a package of instant vanilla pudding and used food coloring to tint it. I taped construction paper to her high chair tray, and away she went. The pudding worked great, it dried nicely overnight, and is now proudly displayed on the fridge. (The first of many to come, I'm sure) :)

What?! I can put my hands in this stuff!

Mmmm, delicious!

Thanks Mom, this was fun!

Oh good I need some ideas too. Do you guys have a Barnes and Nobles or even a library close by? We do story time at both places and the kids love it. Also I'm in a little rosary group with some other moms. We meet on Tuesdays and say the rosary, the kids play or pray with us and then whoever is hosting provides a snack. It's fun to hang out with other moms and kids and gets us out of the house! I used to do bible study at our church but I can't leave Madeleine in the nursery because they have goldfish and milk! Poor thing. (Not to mention it's like biohazard in there.... :)

Thanks for the suggestions! Unfortunatley, we don't have a Barnes and Nobles anywhere near here. And our tiny little library only does story time during the summer, and it's only open to 4 and 5 year olds. Besides, the librarian is super mean, she definitely gives the impression that she really doesn't like kids! Isabella recently started taking naps in the morning again, but as soon as she goes back to her one nap a day in the afternoon routine, we are going to join MOPS. It's from 9-11, which is right during her morning nap time now.
