the recipe you've all been waiting for. :) I'm sure not many of you have the need for a sheep cake, but I thought it was cute for a first birthday party. I'm going to make it again for her actual birthday, the theme will be "Happy birthday to ewe!" I know, so clever!! Isabella actually baa-ed when she saw the cake the other day. So here it is, I changed it a little bit by adding pink to make it more "girly". I also used this recipe for the cake, which I highly recommend. They also have a cow and pig cake on that website which are very cute.
A couple of funny things about the cake . . .
When I was making it, my sister looked at the picture and thought the sheep was laying on it's back with all four feet up in the air, she thought the ears were feet. She thought it was much cuter once I explained it to her.
When I told my 8 year old cousin we were having a sheep cake, he got a terrified look on his face. He thought it was a cake made with lamb meat not a cake that looks like a sheep. Gross!

Party Girl
We went to my parents' house this weekend to celebrate Isabella's upcoming birthday with my family. We are having Monte's family come to our house for her actual birthday and this was the only weekend that worked for my family. It was a great day, both my brother and sister and their families were there. My grandma and most of my aunts, uncles, and cousins also came. Isabella was in desperate need of some toys. She has been so sick of her "baby" toys that she hasn't been interested in them for a while now. Monte and I agreed we wouldn't buy her toys except on her birthday and Christmas, we have stuck to that pretty well (of course there has been a couple of exceptions :) ) and I'm glad we did. After this weekend she has so many fun toys to play with, and it's not even her birthday yet! I'm going to put some of them away for a while so she doesn't get overloaded with new toys and then get sick of them, then I will rotate them every once in a while.
This is definitely the first sheep cake I've ever made.

My mom's friend made this rosary for Isabella, I love it and so does Isabella! It's the perfect thing to take to church for her to play with.

I don't have anything too exciting to post about, so here's some pictures -

See, I really do have some hair!
Doesn't this look comfortable!
Mommy is trying to decide what I should wear for my one year pictures.

Baby Girl
This precious little girl was born yesterday. She was 6 weeks premature (same as Isabella) but she only weighs a little over 3 pounds and is 15 inches long. Her cleft lip and pallette are quite severe, she also is missing most of her nose. They don't have the results back yet from the CT scan, so they don't know about any brain damage yet. They are hoping for a miracle, that she won't have any brain damage. Please keep this precious baby and her family in your prayers.

Silly Girl
I was getting something out of the drawer under her crib when she started laughing at me - that's how it all started! Oh my, the things we'll do to entertain our kid!

11 Months Old
How is it possible my baby is going to be one in another month! Wow, that went fast! She has learned to do so many things. She "talks" all the time, mostly jabbers of course, but she does say ma ma, da da, and ga wa wa wa for grandma. She loves to imitate what other people are doing, she also loves to be read to, dance, and go outside. Most of her day consists of pulling herself up to stand. She still loves to sleep, although that may change when she starts teething. That's right, no teeth yet, not even close! (She's doing something weird with her tongue in this picture, kind of makes it look like teeth). I keep saying she's going to need baby dentures. :)
